Complications and Solutions
This week we have been working on adding content to our pages and links and it looks like we have settled on a theme that we all love! Our main focus is "Helping our Agents." We are polishing the main page, and are trying out some different finishing touches to see what we like best.
We have also run into some complications uploading pictures and files, so this has led us to create a troubleshooting page that will help agents when they run into the same problems. Plus, it gives us a learning opportunity as we are learning how to find solutions to the everyday problems that are experienced when creating a webpage.
We have a conference/join.me meeting scheduled for tomorrow to touch base. Feels like our website is coming along wonderfully so far!
What’s Our Focus?
We gave ourselves some questions to ponder over the weekend. What's our focus? Who are we trying to reach? What do we need to add or change to our site to meet those goals? Well it worked! We came back with some definite plans – very exciting!
Bios – Telling Our Story
We are using the concept of telling our story for our bios. We learned about this at our Company Kickoff Meeting on January 28th at the Multnomah Athletic presented by Ryan Avery. This was an amazing presentation on storytelling! He is an incredible inspirational speaker. Check out Ryan's website here: http://ryanavery.com/.
Friday Update!
We just finished our second join.me and conference call discussion. We went over several things while trying to figure out exactly what direction we would like the website to go. Karen has been working on different pictures/layouts/colors and sending screenshots to the rest of the team. We have been adding new links, testimonials and general site information but still have a long way to go to get all the information in. We will be continuing to work on this over the next week!
We are all working on our biographies and are also working on individual ideas too!
-Karen is working on office links and has been making and organizing the links to make our page awesome!
-Tonia is going to work on the Pacific NW link, finding great info to add to our page!
-Charity is going to be working on adding circle-pix links and trying to find a picture that makes our page stand out and pop!!
We are going for the grand prize! Hopefully we can get all the basics done so we can "add the sprinkles and whip cream" – as Tonia would like to say:)
Banners & Pictures & Taglines – Oh My!
Today our team is "meeting" again at 1pm with Join.me – if you haven't used it – it's a great tool. Working on some custom banner ideas and you'll see that we're updating the names of our links to make them more interesting. Let us know what you think!
So Many Choices!
Working on finalizing our look – here are a couple of our choices – what do you think?
Collaboration
Yesterday was our first conference/group conversation together! We went over several aspects of our new website and successfully used join.me for the first time. We collaborated on some great ideas and the website is really coming together!
We are working on our biographies and testimonials from staff as well as trying to streamline our theme and focus.
More news to come!
Join.me – our first experiment!
Our Team got together via Join.me today – works great and there's a free version. If you haven't used Join.me before check them out. Here a short video on how the free version works.
Working together!
The team spent a great deal of time today emailing ideas back and forth about what would go on the website. We coordinated ideas about the home page, pictures, colors, content, etc. We also started our blog documenting how the website is coming together step by step. We also uploaded videos and decided that we would be presented as a team and are going to add individual biographies to our profiles.
Up next: Tomorrow we will use Join.Me to be able to discuss the website as a group! Wish us luck!
Picking a cover photo
Thanks to Terri Anderson of http://www.imagebyterri.com/ for this amazing photo of the I-5 Bridge – we are thinking of a bridge theme.
